I got these magnets for my 14 month old daughter. She is into animals, and into our other fridge magnets so I thought they would keep her amused while I cook. There are plenty of them, enough to pick up, re arrange, and swap from fridge to washing machine! They are great for conversational skills, animal recognition and she loves it when we mix them up and she has to find a certain animal.
They come in a lovely little wooden box, as all Melissa and Doug things seem to, but sadly it doesn't have a lid.
The other downside to them is that the edges of the print seem too peel/wear off rather easily, so we have a few animals with the corners missing after too much handling with dribbly fingers, and the odd little chew. I suppose they would be ok for older children who don't put things in their mouths, or for a place where they wouldn't need too much wiping. All in all we love them anyway!

Beautiful toy, safe and practical. Really pleased with the variety of animals. My 20 month old boys really love them.
