Matching toys to your child’s development
Choose toys appropriate to your baby’s age.
Although all babies are different and some will react badly to or
take little notice of a toy that another may like, the further list
should help you make some good choices. Some toys will be multi-activity
so you won’t necessarily have to buy a separate toy for each characteristic.
Remember too that a toy your baby may dislike or be disinterested in one week
later, so don’t cast aside toys that appear to have been rejected straightaway.
Bear in mind that you don’t have to have the latest ‘all-singing, all-dancing’
electronic baby toys - the classics (such as stacking towers, balls and building blocks)
have remained popular for so long for good reason.
